How to find out how valuable your scrap gold is
No pure gold is generally used to make jewellery. It is a mix of various metals such as silver, palladium or copper. The colour of the gold and thus the purchasing price varies depending on how many metals are mixed and their concentration when the gold is manufactured. If, for example, your gold has an orange-reddish colour, it has a particularly high copper content. This means the gold purchasing price is lower because it contains less gold.
The higher the stamp marking, the higher the price offered to your gold.
The stamping of your scrap gold also provides information regarding the price offered to you in exchange for your gold by GoldCourier. Gold jewellery is generally stamped, with the stamp imprint stating the percentage of gold. Stamp markings such as 333, 585, 750 and 999 are particularly common. For example, the stamp 750 means that the gold percentage is 75%. A stamp marking of 999 stands for an almost pure gold content, which is very rarely used to make jewellery.
